On October 2, a fleet manager of Pompei (NA) contacted the Viasat Operations Centre to report the theft of the vehicle, a Fiat Panda, in the morning of the same day. The Operations Centre immediately located the the vehicle – fitted with a BLU TRACK– SIXT satellite device – which was recovered by the local Police Force.
The particular circumstance is that this vehicle was stolen twice in the month of October and recovered very quickly on both occasions.
According to Highway Police estimates – published in the 9th edition of the Viasat Security Guide – car thefts are very frequent in Campania which is the Italian Region with the highest level of risk, with 28,828 vehicles stolen from their legitimate owners.
