While in the Vomero area of Naples at 4 o’clock in the morning, a Viasat client was forced to abandon his vehicle which was stolen together with his wallet and mobile by armed thieves. After around half an hour from the event, the boy’s father contacted the Viasat Operations Centre to report the incident. The operator immediately activated the localisation procedures, locating the vehicle and notifying its position to the Police with the aid of geographical coordinates. After around half an hour, the vehicle, an Opel Corsa fitted with a BluBox device was relocated in good conditions.
Therefore, installing a satellite antitheft, the Emergency Alarm function immediately alerts the Viasat Operations Centre which is able to locate the precise position of the event and provide prompt help, roadside assurance or any other service required.
