Fleets and rental: Viasat’s proposal to support green mobility

The Viasat proposals for electric and hybrid cars in the Rent market are called S-Box Evo and 2S Evo. A new generation of satellites, therefore, for supporting companies in the green transition and enabling their full potential to be realized. Viasat satellite devices for green fleets, equipped with the H24 Operations Centre (Emergency Call) and the Viasat Digital Connect platform, are parts of a single integrated ecosystem that makes it possible to monitor the status of the fleet in real-time and intervene promptly when anomalies or breakdowns occur. All this is in addition to the traditional activities of finding and recovering vehicles, in the event of theft, and managing claims, through the preparation of a telematics report. Through the Viasat appS, the smartphone application, the vehicle driver can also consult data and route analyses.
One of the main criteria guiding the choices of fleet managers today is ‘cost governance’, maintaining and improving the quality of services offered to customers wherever possible. In this regard, the solutions that Viasat offers to the market allow it to keep under control the data detected by onboard devices, monitoring those factors that can affect operating efficiency, savings, safety, and greater driver awareness of virtuous behavior behind the wheel. Translating into a competitive advantage that becomes increasingly important as competition increases.
The European Commission’s strategy for sustainable and intelligent mobility aims to replace the current car fleet with non-polluting cars. The transition to green mobility is therefore an irreversible process, which is why it is essential to start preparing for it well in advance. And the solutions that Viasat makes available to fleet managers aim to contribute to this revolution with the ambition of leaving future generations a better and safer planet than the one we have been entrusted with.
