Viasat, in collaboration with the ViaAir company, made its debut in the field of flight safety by launching a technology platform for aircraft and drone control.
It is not a “Black Box” nor an ELT – even though it covers 100% of their functionalities – but a small satellite device, 115 x 90 x 35 mm in size, complete with GSM and GPS antennas, which can be attached to the cockpit Plexiglas or installed on the aircraft or drone. It offers a geolocation service similar to that which has been used for years in the automotive sector. The system includes a simple and intuitive technology platform, able to provide value-added services for the monitoring of aircrafts and drones.
